Steps for dual enrollment @ Moorpark college. Fall, Spring and Summer Terms.
Step 1: You will need to apply online at moorparkcollege.edu and click on the tab "apply and enroll" then the link "new steps for students": then "dual enrollment K-12:” for summer and/or fall 2020/spring 2021 *as a high school student*. The online application is only required the first time and then again after not attending any of the Community Colleges including MC for two consecutive primary terms (Fall/Spring semesters, in any order). If you need help completing the online application, search here: http://[email protected], or you can get help at Fountain Hall on the MC campus.
Step 2: All new and returning students to Moorpark College: You will need to complete the Special Admission/Memorandum of Understanding form with the top part filled out with your name, college ID, etc. for each semester you enroll. Here:tinyurl.com/y2f62etd. If you are in grades 8 and below, you will need the professor's approval before you can enroll which means you have to go to the class the first day/night to get approval. This does not apply to students in the 9th - 12th grade. You and your parent must read and sign the form before taking it to Fountain Hall on the Moorpark College campus with a picture ID, or you can submit your document attached as a single file to email: [email protected] from your my.vcccd.edu email address. You may also be required to provide an unofficial transcript for courses that have pre requisites: for example: Statistics has a prereq. of Alg. 2, so you need your transcript to prove you took the course. Request can be made from the registrar and she can send to you as an attachment: [email protected] Step 3: Follow the important dates on the Registration Calendar, so you know what your deadlines are for dropping a class, etc. I do not know every pre requisite required for you to enroll in a certain class. You must check here for Schedule of Classes: www.moorparkcollege.edu/apply-and-enroll/schedule-of-classesto look up on your own. When in doubt check here: http://[email protected], You don't have to have the courses placed on your Monte Vista Transcript, but if you do, bring the official or unofficial grade report to Ms. Christa, Registrar. Ms. Christa will add the class and letter grade: 3 units = 10 High school credits. Contact Ms. Christa for credit value if taking a 4 or 5 units course.
Step 4: Remember to send confirmation of your enrollment in the class as we are now required to add your MC class in AERIES. You can request classes, but if you don't bring confirmation then, it won't be on your transcript. Please send to Christa McDermott at [email protected] as an attachment. Just open the document and save as on your desktop, then send to her as an attachment.
Grades 8 & Below:
Students in 8th grade or below must obtain instructor approval to enroll in each class. Ask the instructor for an “Add Code” as soon as they are available and use it to register online via MyVCCCD. For semester length classes Add Codes are not available until the second week of the term. The Recommendation for Dual Enrollment & Memorandum of Understanding and the school transcript or most recent grade report must be submitted to Admissions & Records as described above before registration can be permitted. We recommend submitting these required documents after successfully applying to the college and receiving the acceptance email. Contact mcadmissions@vcccd.edu with any questions or to request additional support to get registered.
